Mr. Brad Giesbrecht Appointed Assistant Athletic Director
The Providence Academy Athletics Department is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Brad Giesbrecht to the position of Assistant Athletic Director
Mr. Giesbrecht is a product of St.John's High School, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada after which he matriculated to the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education with a minor in Athletic Coaching. He most recently earned a Masters in Education at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in Sport and Recreation Management Emphasis.
Mr. Giesbrecht has a deep background as an athlete and as a coach. He started playing hockey at five years old and into his college years. He also played baseball starting at eleven years old and golf at fifteen. In his collegiate years he was a coach at East Grand Forks High School and has coached a year for the Minnetonka Youth Hockey Association.
Prior to Providence Academy Mr. Giesbrecht worked at Anoka Middle School for the Arts, Anoka-Hennepin School District. He has served as a Middle School Athletic Administrator in Anoka-Hennepin School District for eleven years.
A well prepared professional, Mr. Giesbrecht shares , “A family value that has bled into everything I do, whether it is sports, academics or just life in general: a high work ethic. The motto of Effort=Results is what has best prepared me for this new role.”
Giesbrecht continues, “I am looking forward to working with students and staff in the pursuit of excellence in the classroom and athletic arena. To use my skills and talents to provide the necessary tools and resources so that students at Providence Academy can accomplish their dreams.
Giesbrecht is married to his wife Nancy and has two adult step-children, Eric and Laura as well as two dogs, Fred and Nugget. In his downtime he loves to read autobiographies, traveling, taking photos.
