Luke is a graduate of Elk River High School after which he matriculated to St John’s University and graduated with a degree in Management.
Luke started swimming club at 7 years old and competed at the state level for both club swimming and High School. He continues to swim as a US Masters swimmer. He has compiled three first place finishes in the 1650 for his age group at short course Nationals. In addition to swimming in the pool Luke has completed an Ironman competition in 2016 in Madison, Wisconsin.
Prior to coaching the Blake and Providence co-op Luke coached several club and high school teams. The last five years he coached the Elk River girls team and the last three years he oversaw the Cooper boys program.
When asked, why do you want to coach at Blake-Providence Academy co-op, Luke responded, “I think swimming should be about having fun, seeing personal improvement, and enjoying team success. I am looking forward to my first season with the team!”
When asked, why do you coach? He shared, “I coach to share my knowledge and passion for swimming. I love when athletes surprise themselves with great performances!”
