Anita was raised in Lincoln Nebraska where she went to Lincoln High School. After high school Anita continued to the University of Nebraska earning a BS degree.
Anita was a high school swimmer and track athlete and was also a cheerleader for her Lincoln High sports teams.
When asked about her life in golf Anita muses, “I was late in pursuing the game of golf. I was 26 when I picked up my first golf club. Beginners take note. I took some lessons and found I had some aptitude for the game. I have won several club flight championships. I also have multiple first place tournament victories in personal and team play and I competed in the Twin Cities League, an intra-city club team yearlong event. I served on the board of the MWGA and as a Club liaison and have recently been appointed as a WGA Evans Scholar Director. I participate in the fundraising and support of caddies in attaining a college scholarship.”
When asked, what in your past best prepares you for this role? Anita responded, “I have had many leadership roles outside the sports arena that have provided meaningful and valuable experience. Most of those came from the educational system as a Volunteer, PTA president, site council member, carnival chairman, playground renovation, fundraiser, board member. I think my biggest insight to coaching has been to be involved and on the sidelines of my own student athletes to see what motivated them to achieve personal and team success. I chose to coach for the simple desire to support these young women to achieve personal and team success in this life sport I have enjoyed so much.”
